Pada tanggal 14 Januari 2021 pukul 13:30 wib telah lahir seekor anak kijang di Taman Satwa Museum Pusaka Nias. Selanjutnya induk dan anak kijang tersebut dipisahkan/dikarantinakan dengan kawanan kijang lainnya dengan kandang terpisah.
Selain itu juga pemberian makanan dibedakan dengan kawanan kijang yang lainnya yang dibiasanya daun ubi beralih dengan ubi kayu, kelapa, ubi jalar, agar induk dan anak kijang tersebut dalam kondisi sehat.
Proses pemberian makanan tersebut berlangsung selama 1 bulan.
