Wooden Mask “Takula Gere”

Takula Gere - Wooden Mask. Used by a traditional priest of the ancient religion called Ere Mbörönadu at a ceremony called Fondrakö when traditional law was ratified.

The people of Nias felt unable to communicate with the gods. Therefore, the ancient religious leaders using the Takula mask resembling a human face to connect people with the gods in the sky.
