Museum Nias Café
The Museum Nias Café is a popular restaurant serving drinks, snacks and a selection of tasty dishes. The Café is located in the beautiful Museum gardens overlooking the Gunungsitoli waterfront.
We invite you to stop by the Museum for coffee or lunch. We are open 7 days a week from 7 AM to 7 PM. For our in-house overnight guests we also offer breakfast and dinner. The Museum Café is also often catering for the many events and meetings taking place at the Museum.
The Café has been operating since the museum opened in 2002 and started as a simple canteen for staff. Soon it became popular with both museum visitors and local people in Gunungsitoli. The tranquil surroundings but very central location makes the Museum Café a perfect place to meet friends, arrange meetings or simply have a relaxing lunch.
Today the Café has developed into a busy full-service restaurant serving both Indonesian and European food. Visitors can choose to sit in the actual Café or in one of the more private seating arrangements in the gardens. Apart from serving food the Café sells a selection of snacks, traditional medicine and books published by the Museum.
On weekends the Museum receives hundreds of visitors and in addition to the Café there is a kiosk at the waterfront selling drinks and snacks.
For catering or special orders contact the Museum.
